Our Book

Today the weather is so beautiful I could have done anything. Instead I sort of did nothing and just enjoyed it. Why are we compelled to make lists of things to do so we can cross them off? Oh I did a couple loads of laundry (yes my wife is out of town), I buried a dead bird I found in the back yard and I have lounged on the porch with our cat and worked on my book. See cats are smart, no lists of things to do, just live life. Which book you ask? Well today I focused on my book about commando knives. It is really taking shape. What to name it?? It needs to be catchy and interesting not just another "Commando Dagger/Knife//etc/etc." book.

I am sitting here with two original WW-II X-daggers right beside me. They are awesome fighting knives. If you have ever held a First Pattern Fairbairn, then imagine a knife about 25% more fulfilling. It has more blade length, more handle, and more attitude. They are the equivalent of a small Arkansas Toothpick! The additional weight really adds to the feeling of lethality. You just know they are going to penetrate anything you choose, Soft body armor included. I think a 10 inch bowie is optimal. Here we have about an 8 inch dagger and that is a good size too. I have bigger daggers and dirks but they are full out medieval sort of weapons. X-daggers are almost a  transitional weapon between the renaissance and modernity.

I hope you are having as nice a day as I am. I'm sure my wife will want a full accounting of what I got done while she was away. I'm just going to send her to ask the cat.
