“As R. R. hunted for his flight gate, he prepared for the prospect of a security guard peering through his clothes with a full body scanner. But R. doesn't mind: what he gives up in privacy he gets back in security.”
This quote comes from a Dec. 31st Yahoo news report. Does anyone else have a problem with this attitude? Am I the only one who sees this as the final capitulation to terrorism and slavery?

“Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither.” Benjamin Franklin. Does anyone remember who Benjamin Franklin was, or is he just a face on a hundred dollar note? Not only do these give-me-safety-at-any-cost people not deserve liberty, it will be stripped from them by the very people they run to for protection. Rather than upset a violent minority by profiling we will walk into the mouth of the beast and surrender our liberty and security. For those of you who don't understand what I am saying try reading "Atlas Shrugged," or "1984." Maybe its already too late..........
I can only wonder what 2010 will bring.
